This medium-weight check fabric, in different shades of brown, has stripes running the length of the fabric created by a dobby weave method. Perfect for a traditional shirt, this fabric would also look great in a bias-cut skirt or top.

What is Dobby Weave?

A dobby weave is a type of weaving structure that creates small geometric patterns on fabric. It is named after the dobby loom, which was invented in France in the early 19th century by Joseph-Marie Jacquard. The dobby loom uses a mechanism called a “dobby head” to lift and lower warp threads individually, allowing for intricate patterns to be woven.
