We have added another yarn to our range. This one is from Juniper Moon Farm, which is based in Virginia in the USA, and has "a line of carefully sourced and thoughtfully crafted yarns that feature fibres grown in Peru, Argentina, Nepal, and Italy." Information sourced from here.
We have started with Findley DK dappled. This DK weight (or 8-ply in the old terms) yarn is a 50/50 blend of wool and silk, with the silk giving the yarn a beautiful sheen and softness. The yarn is variegated, and has a tweedy appearance rather than stripes, and comes in 100g skeins.
Kathryn from Meraki Cottage is the first to try this yarn. Kathryn likes green, and so selected 'Tough Gold', one of the six colours we have in stock, to crochet this Augusta shawl, which is a free pattern from Craftsy.com. She has used 2.5 skeins of this yarn and said it was easy to crochet because it was smooth and did not split.
