New Japanese Fabrics

At the recent visit of a new (to us) fabric supplier, we were very excited to find that a large part of their offering is of beautiful Japanese fabrics!! It was very hard to be restrained, though in the end we only selected a few this time.

The fabrics we ordered have now arrived. And they are rather lovely. Which means we will go back for some more – soon!

We selected two of the many beautiful printed cotton corduroy. This is a very fine cord, probably more a needlecord than a pinwale. We went for the paisley design this time, in two colours.

There is this dainty little blue paisley on a cream background, or the larger muted blue paisley

You could use the small one like this maybe, or maybe use them together

These fabrics are quite lightweight, and will be suitable across seasons.

The other two fabrics are beautiful indigo prints. (I have called them ‘Crescents’ and ‘Sticks’, but would be very happy to receive suggested improvements on these names!)

These are a mid weight cotton fabric, with a lovely drape. These would look good in a kimono style top, or in a soft skirt with a solid colour top. Interestingly, the colours are different on each side of the fabric.

What will you make these into?
