New In-store & Online June 2017

We are awash with fabric! The latest winter warmers include wool/cashmere coatings, double sided wool blends, a black embossed wool blend, patterned warp stretch pontes, boiled wool (see A Word about Wool), wool jersey and a number of wool blends. We also have a diverse range of pontes which include striped, marled and our standard plains. Pinwale corduroy is a popular fabric, which we are finding hard to source this year. We have a spotted pinwale and have just taken delivery of a plain dusty blue. At the moment that is the best we can do, however we keep looking in the hope that more will pop up. BERNINA News June 2017

The Ruler kit may be of interest to those of you who quilt. This kit contains 5 different shaped rulers which include straight lines, circles, and ovals. The Bernina adjustable Ruler foot #72 is a free-motion foot for use with this kit. The Ruler kit is priced at $249 whilst the Ruler foot is $105. We have one of each in store for demonstration purposes, and can order these in for you. A Word About Wool

Wendy writes—the cooler weather is settling in and our collection of wool and wool blend fabrics is looking invitingly cosy. The wonderful thermal properties of wool can rarely be matched, and our range varies from the softest wool gauze to heavy wool coatings. One of our most popular wool fabrics has been a “boiled” type wool/viscose blend. This is a stable, medium weight, easy to sew fabric with some draper, two “right” sides and needs no finishing on the raw edges. There are a few Tessuti patterns (available in store) which make a perfect choice, but our clever customers have found this fabric works just as well in skirts, tunics, jackets and dresses. House of Cloth Customer Survey 2017

House of Cloth would like to give its customers the opportunity to tell them how they are doing. There are a number of questions covering a range of topics including fabric, yarn, social media and service. While the survey is detailed, there are only a handful of required questions. The survey will be open until the end of April 2017. Once the survey is closed, 5 lucky people will be the recipient of a House of Cloth voucher. Vouchers available will be 1 x $50, 2 x $20 and 1 x $10. Recipients will be drawn randomly. Take the survey here
