Beginner/refresher sewing workshop

Are you new to sewing? Or want to go back and start from the basics to build your confidence to return to sewing? Then these workshops are for you. These four hour workshops will be run over two Saturdays. The first workshop will cover a range of basic techniques, including different seams and seam finishes, and sewing curves. A basic item like a bag or cushion cover will be made to incorporate a number of these techniques.   In the second workshop you will make a simple garment, of your choice, incorporating and consolidating the techniques learnt. Fabric Block Printing and Dyeing Workshop

Are you interested in learning about block printing and natural dyeing? Then these workshops are for you.  Your Instructor Julia Raath is a textile print designer with extensive teaching experience in both the Higher Education and Vocational Education sectors in Australia and India. Winter holiday program

Our school holiday program will run in July 2017 for children aged 9+. Ages 6-8 can be accommodated with parent for Beginner classes only. Adults also welcome! If you have made your block patterns and want to learn how to modify the patterns to other designs, then this advanced pattern-drafting workshop is for you. Learn the tricks of the trade, giving you confidence to sew for yourself and even others.
